Device Object

The Device object represents the CC-ONYX controller itself on the BACnet network. Exactly one Device object exists. It carries the identity of the controller (name, vendor, model, firmware revision), the network configuration, and a set of proprietary properties used to monitor and configure the hardware.

The object instance number is the BACnet Device ID. It is configurable, the value below is the default.

Proprietary Properties

The proprietary properties are grouped below by function.

MS/TP Configuration

These properties configure how the controller communicates on the BACnet MS/TP network.

MAC_Address

MS/TP node address of the controller. The valid values are from 0 to 254. Each device on the same MS/TP segment must use a unique address.

Baudrate

MS/TP communication speed, encoded as an index from 0 to 6 that maps to the supported rates from 9600 up to 230400 baud.

ValueBaud rate
09600
119200
238400
357600
476800
5115200
6230400

Identify

These properties drive the physical identification of the controller, which makes the unit blink its light outputs so an installer can locate it.

Identify_BlinkLed

Set to 1 to start the identify blink sequence, 0 to stop it. When active, the controller blinks light outputs 1 and 2 so an installer can locate the unit. The output values are restored when the identify sequence stops.

Identify_Timeout

Number of seconds after which the identify blinking stops automatically.

RTC Status

These read-only properties report the state of the hardware real-time clock.

RTC_Error_Flag

Set to 1 when the real-time clock hardware reports an error, 0 otherwise.

RTC_Available

Set to 1 when real-time clock hardware is present, 0 when it is absent.

RTC_Clock_Source

Active clock source of the internal RTC. The values are as follows:

  • 0 - the controller is running on its internal fallback clock source.
  • 1 - the controller is running on the primary clock source.
  • 2 - the primary clock source was present on a previous boot but is absent this boot, so the controller has fallen back to the internal source.

System Information

These read-only properties report the health and identity of the controller hardware.

System_Reset_Reason

Code that identifies the cause of the last reset.

System_Temperature

Internal CPU temperature in degrees Celsius.

System_Voltage

Internal reference voltage in volts.

System_Uptime

Time in seconds since the last restart.

System_Flash_Id

Identifier of the external flash chip fitted on the board.

Hardware Configuration

System_Dipswitch_Value

Current value of the onboard configuration dipswitches, where each bit represents the on or off of one position.

Logging

These properties enable and configure the operating sequence log and the system log.

OpSeq_Log_Enabled

Set to 1 to enable operating sequence logging, 0 to disable it.

OpSeq_Log_Flash_Enabled

Set to 1 to persist the operating sequence log to flash, 0 to keep it in memory only.

Syslog_Enabled

Set to 1 to enable the system log, 0 to disable it.

Syslog_Level

Minimum severity that is recorded. The values are as follows:

  • INFO (0) - records informational, warning, and error messages.
  • WARN (1) - records warning and error messages.
  • ERROR (2) - records error messages only.

Daylight Saving Time Configuration

These properties define the daylight saving time transition rules used by the controller clock.

DST_Offset

Daylight saving offset in minutes. It follows the BACnet convention where locations west of UTC use a positive value.

DST_Start_Month and DST_End_Month

Month of the transition. The valid values are from 1 to 12.

DST_Start_Week and DST_End_Week

Week of the month for the transition. The valid values are from 1 to 5, where 255 means the last week.

DST_Start_Day and DST_End_Day

Day of the week for the transition. The valid values are from 1 to 7.

Time and Clock Source

These properties expose the hardware clock time and select how the controller keeps time.

Hardware_UTC_Time

Time read directly from the hardware real-time clock, in UTC. Read-only.

Time_Source

Source used to keep the controller time. The values are as follows:

  • NTP (0) - time is synchronized from a network time server.
  • Manual (1) - time is set manually.

Date_Time

Local date and time of the controller. Writing this property sets the system time when the time source is manual.
